Midwest Hydro Drilling & Service, Inc. was renamed in 1986 by current owners, Verne and Phil Luther.

Verne Luther received  his bachelors degree after WWII and began his career in water well and pumps for Municipal, PWSD's, Industrial, Commercial and Irrigation applications in1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was promoted to assistant to the president during his years of service. Verne traveled through out Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Montana for nearly twenty years as the leader in the market. He is an Optomist and a Shriner. Verne Relocated to St. Louis, Missouri in 1965 as the district manager of the largest water well  drilling and pump repair firm in the country. He managed the local Illinois and Missouri market. Within five years he was promoted to midwest region manager including Ohio, Indiana, So. Ill, Iowa, Michigan and Missouri. Eventually Verne was promoted to executive V.P. and member of the board of directors. He also sat on several other boards which were water supply oriented companies. After a short early retirement in 1985 he and his son Phil Luther bought and renamed Midwest Hydro in June of 1986.

Phil Luther received his bachelors degree in 1979. However Phil began his water well and pump career 1967 during high school working in the shop loading and unloading trucks, tearing down and rebuilding pumps, welding and regular dirty jobs before moving out in the field at the age of eighteen. Several years of college and his desire work took Phil out in the field fulltime in 1971. After six cold winters drilling and servicing pumps he decided to finish his formal education. Phil went to Houston Texas for the largest water well drilling firm as sales engineer handling the largest towns in Texas. He grew to the largest volume SE in the company. He was promoted to Omaha, Nebraska as the district manager. Phil quickly turned the operation around into profitablity and quality performance. He convined Verne they should own there own company.

With the desire to buy and operate there own company Verne and Phil bought and renamed the present firm Midwest Hydro Drilling & Service, Inc. in 1986. Today they are a market force here in the midwest. They are licensed and operate in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Illinois. Both are recognized as professional water supply experts in the large volume capacity market.
